ABOUT LIFE SKILLS CHAMPIONS
Built by someone who's been in the room.
Life Skills Champions was founded in 2024 by James, after years of hands-on work in developmental services — and one observation he couldn't shake.
OUR STORY
Born from a gap we kept seeing.
James has worked in the developmental services field since 2020 — in homes, in the community, alongside neurodivergent teens and young adults and the families who love them.
Over those years, one pattern showed up again and again: too many providers were doing things for the individuals they served instead of teaching and equipping them. The task got done. The skill never got learned. And the person stayed dependent on someone else being there.
Life Skills Champions was founded in 2024 to do it differently — to teach, to equip, and to step back so each person can step up. We're based in Mar Vista and serve West LA and the surrounding communities, working through California's Self-Determination Program in coordination with Westside Regional Center.
Person-centered. Goal-driven. Not ABA therapy.
OUR APPROACH

Our coaches step back so your young person can step up. Every session builds a skill they keep — not a task we did for them.
Real settings, not classrooms.
Skills are practiced where they'll actually be used — the grocery store, the bus stop, the kitchen, the workplace.
Their goals, their pace.
Person-centered plans built with the individual and their family — and support that scales up or down as life changes.
