THE CHAMPION PROGRAM
One-on-one coaching, built around one person.
Personalized coaching for neurodivergent teens and young adults that builds real-world skills and independence. We design tailored goals together, then practice the skills in the real settings where they'll be used — from a few hours a week to 40+.
Who it's for
Neurodivergent teens and young adults — including those on the autism spectrum and with other developmental differences — who want more independence, and families who want skills taught, not tasks done for them.
How it works
Every session is one-on-one with a Life Skills Coach. We build a person-centered plan with the individual and their family, then coach in the real settings where each skill will actually be used.
How it's funded
Most families fund the Champion Program through a Self-Determination Program (SDP) budget, in coordination with Westside Regional Center. We'll help you figure out what fits.
FIVE FOCUS AREAS
One plan. Five areas of real life.
Every plan pulls from the areas below — as many or as few as the individual's goals call for. Skills are never taught in isolation: a cooking goal touches budgeting, shopping, and transit too.
Independent Living Skills
The everyday routines that make living on your own possible — done by the individual, not for them.
EXAMPLES OF WHAT WE WORK ON

Support to succeed in school, college, or continued learning — and to speak up for what they need.

SUPPORT THAT SCALES
From a few hours a week to 40+.
The Champion Program isn't one fixed package. Support grows or shrinks with the individual's goals, and can change over time.
A few hours a week
Targeted skill-building around one or two goals — a cooking routine, a job search, getting comfortable on the bus.
Several days a week
Building routines across multiple focus areas, with consistent coaching through the week.
40+ hours a week
Comprehensive daily support for individuals working toward, or already living, more independently.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Good to know.
Is this ABA therapy?
No. We're a person-centered coaching service. We don't run behavior programs — we teach practical skills alongside the individual, in the places they'll use them.
Where do sessions happen?
Wherever the skill lives: at home, in the community, at work or school. We serve West LA and surrounding areas.
Who are the coaches?
Our Life Skills Coaches are LSC employees, not contractors, trained in our teach-don't-do approach. Each individual is matched with a consistent coach.
What if we're not in SDP yet?
We'll walk you through it. See How SDP Works for the overview, or bring your questions to the consultation.
